Once you have decided that you want to join the Club, simply complete the application form here and we will contact you with any further questions. This form asks for some basic background on your flying experience, your qualifications and other important details we need to process your application.
Once we have received your completed membership form, we will pass the necessary details to the team who manage our licensing and medical records. They will contact you to request any remaining information and will inform Club admin once this process is complete.
Once all of the documentation has been approved, a member profile will be created for you on our online plaform, CloudBase so you can make bookings and access your flight records, W&B detail, the tech log and more besides. CloudBase is also the main information portal for the Club and provides the opportunity to message other members, browse the message board and view other key data.
Members subscribe to the Club via a small monthly payment of just £50, which provides access to Club’s facilities. Subs are payable on the second day of each month and should be made by Standing Order. There is also an annual insurance waiver fee of £40, payable in the first few months. Once the payments have been setup, we will introduce you to one of our instructors who will conduct a check-flight with you on each applicable aircraft type. This will include a briefing on Club operations including bookings, refuelling, parking, security and basic maintenance checks.
Your Club membership includes access to the Club room, online booking system, flight training facilities and aircraft hire. The Club has two Cessna 152 aircraft and a Piper PA28 Archer II, and we’re always looking for new opportunities to vary the fleet and give our members experience of different aircraft
Our C152s are available from £125 per wet hour while our PA28 is available from £165 per wet hour during the week and £180 at weekends.
A Piper Archer II, ZE underwent a major overhaul in 2019 both inside and out. This included a bare metal respray, new control surface skins, interior refurb, avionics upgrade, new prop and new windows. ZE is fully IFR capable and benefits from a GTN650, two G5s in AI & HSI configuration, coupled with a GFC500 digital autopilot. Undoubtedly the finest and most capable PA28 for hire on the South Coast.
A new addition to the fleet, FG was imported into the UK from the US in 2021. With full spats, GNS430 and a striking yellow and black paint finish, this is an aircraft that will make a real impression during its travels around the country. Coming onto the G-register this year, FG also benefits from a zero-timed engine, fitted by our dedicated team of engineers at Cristal Air, near Hastings.
RV is a familiar site at Shoreham and perhaps further afield due to its starring role in the 1978 Christmas special of the sitcom “Some mothers do ‘ave ‘em”, where the hapless Frank Spencer takes his first flying lesson. This 152 ‘aerobat’ has been the workhorse of a few flying schools over the years and during the 21/22 winter season will benefit from a major overhaul to bring it back to its former glory.
We’re delighted that a couple of tech-enthusiast volunteers decided to design and build a flight simulator (Sim) for the Club. We’ve dedicated an entire room to housing it and, as you can see from the pictures, it’s most impressive.
Although it can’t be used to officially log any time, it mimics some of the latest avionics from our PA28 (G-BHZE), including the GTN 650, two G5s and latest GFC500 autopilot. For those looking to become more familiar with the onboard kit and how it works, it's very close to the real thing and is free for all members to use, whenever they like.
Using the latest version of X-Plane 11, OrbX scenery with photo-realistic coverage of the south of the UK, the Sim includes detailed renderings of our home base at Shoreham and neighbouring Goodwood.
At no additional cost to members, it’s a commitment to our affordable flying philosophy, allowing members to fly different routes, configurations and nav setups—all without leaving the Club room!
We have significant experience refurbishing aircraft and like to provide members with the opportunity to fly different versions of similar type.
